Managing Director David Horwich on how Tenterden Finance works with developers, investors, banks and lenders — and what that means for your transaction.

I specialise in structuring property finance solutions across buy to let, development, commercial, student accommodation, leisure, retail and hotel transactions. My focus isn't just sourcing funding — it's analysing whether a deal genuinely works, and identifying the most appropriate structure across leverage, risk, lender appetite and exit strategy.
I work with developers, investors, banks and lenders on transactions ranging from straightforward buy to let portfolios to complex development and mixed-use schemes, as well as specialist asset classes such as student, leisure, retail, hospitality and care home finance. My approach is analytical, transparent and commercially grounded — I aim to give clear technical insight on funding feasibility and structure, particularly where transactions are nuanced, time sensitive, or sit outside standard lending criteria.
Clients range from individual landlords refinancing a single property, through to portfolio landlords, developers and operators running multi-unit schemes. What they tend to have in common is a transaction that doesn't fit neatly into a single lender's box — which is where whole-of-market access and a structuring-first approach earns its keep.
If you're dealing with a transaction where funding feels uncertain or structurally challenging, I'm always happy to offer a technical view — whether or not it ends up going ahead with us.
